International Nurses’ Day Celebrated with Great Enthusiasm at Shri Ratanlal Kanwarlal Patni Girls Nursing College

International Nurses’ Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and dignity at Shri Ratanlal Kanwarlal Patni Girls Nursing College during the seven-day National Service Scheme (NSS) camp. The programme highlighted the invaluable contribution of nurses towards society and the healthcare system. The celebration was based on the 2026 International Nurses’ Day theme, “Our Nurses, Our Future: Empowered Nurses Save Lives.”

The event was graced by the esteemed presence of C.A. Subhash Agarwal, Director and Secretary of the College; Dr. Shailendra Kumar Patni, Principal of the Degree College; and Himanshu Raghav Dadhich, Principal of the Nursing College.

On this special occasion, nursing students showcased their talents through various cultural performances, including dance, drama, and speeches, which beautifully reflected the spirit of nursing service, compassion, and dedication.

During the programme, prizes were distributed to students who secured first, second, and third positions in the main examinations of various semesters of B.Sc. Nursing conducted by the Rajasthan University of Health Sciences (RUHS), Jaipur, as well as students of different years of GNM conducted by the Rajasthan Nursing Council, Jaipur.

Addressing the gathering, C.A. Subhash Agarwal said that nurses are the backbone of the healthcare system. He stated that when patients suffer from physical and emotional pain, nurses provide comfort, care, and hope through their compassion, patience, and dedication to service. He further mentioned that while doctors and nurses complement each other in the medical profession, nurses remain the closest to patients. Encouraging the students, he said that they are the future healthcare professionals of the nation, and their knowledge, behaviour, and spirit of service will play a vital role in building a healthy and safe society.

Dr. Shailendra Kumar Patni, Principal of the Degree College, stated that nurses possess the admirable qualities of service, tolerance, discipline, and sensitivity. From caring for patients in hospitals to responding during emergencies, nurses perform their duties with complete dedication and commitment.

Nursing College Principal Himanshu Raghav Dadhich expressed heartfelt gratitude to all the guests, teachers, and students present at the event. He remarked that nursing is a profession that demands not only knowledge and skills but also sensitivity, patience, and humanity. He motivated the students to continue serving society with sincerity and dedication.

The programme was conducted by Barkha Sharma, Assistant  Professor of Medical-Surgical Nursing, and Shabnam Bano, Programme Officer of the National Service Scheme andAssistantProfessor of Child Health Nursing. Faculty members and students of the college were also present on the occasion.

The celebration concluded with enthusiasm, appreciation, and a renewed commitment towards the noble profession of nursing and service to humanity.
