Report on Dance Performance for Global Handwashing Day – 2025

1. Introduction:- Shri Ratanlal kanwarlal patni Girls’ Nursing college kishangarh Ajmer, Nursing Foundation Department organized a “Global Handwashing Day” on 15 October 2025 to promote the importance of hand hygiene in preventing infections and maintaining good health. The theme for Global Handwashing Day 2025 was “Be a Handwashing Hero!”, emphasizing the role of every individual in promoting proper hand hygiene practices.

To mark this occasion, our college organized a Dance performance to raise awareness about handwashing through a creative and engaging medium. The event aimed to educate students and the community about the correct steps and importance of handwashing with soap.

2. Objectives

• To create awareness about the importance of hand hygiene.
• To demonstrate the proper steps of handwashing in an interesting way.
• To promote student participation and creativity in health awareness activities.
• To motivate others to become “handwashing heroes” in their daily lives.

4. Description of the Dance Performance

The dance performance beautifully combined art and awareness. It began with a short introduction highlighting the importance of clean hands, followed by a choreographed routine depicting the seven steps of handwashing.
Performers used symbolic hand movements synchronized with rhythmic music, demonstrating each step—palms to palms, between fingers, back of hands, thumbs, fingertips, and wrists. The choreography creatively portrayed the message that “clean hands save lives.”
Costumes were themed in blue and white, representing cleanliness and health. The background included posters and banners displaying handwashing slogans. The performance concluded with all dancers forming a giant hand shape and chanting, “Be a Handwashing Hero!”

5. Outcome and Impact

• Enhanced awareness of hand hygiene among students and staff.
• Encouraged behavioral change toward regular handwashing.
• Fostered teamwork, creativity, and confidence among performers.
• Strengthened the link between health education and performing arts.

6. Conclusion

The dance performance on Global Handwashing Day 2025 successfully combined entertainment with education.
