Awareness Program on “World Suicide Prevention Day”

A special awareness program was organized by Shri Ratanlal Kanwarlal Patni Girls Nursing College, Kishangarh on the occasion of World Suicide Prevention Day, under the Department of Mental Health Nursing. The objective of this program was to spread awareness in society regarding the sensitive issue of suicide and to sensitize people towards mental health.

On this occasion, the college students effectively communicated important messages related to the prevention of suicide, its causes, symptoms, and possible solutions through poster presentations. Through thought-provoking messages like “Change the Perspective on Suicide”, the students highlighted the significance of Suicide Prevention Day and presented detailed information about the role and objectives of this day.

The college’s Director and Secretary Mr. Subhash Agrawal sent a message stating, “Suicide is not a solution to any problem. No matter how difficult life seems, there is always a way to fight it. We must break the silence around suicide and talk openly about mental health.”

College Principal Mr. Himanshu Raghav Dadhich said that the main objective of observing World Suicide Prevention Day is to draw society’s attention to the rising incidents of suicide, to underline the importance of mental health, and to clearly convey the message that no difficulty in life is so great that one must end their life because of it.

The program was judged by Mrs. Pooja Bagdi, Anuradha Shekhawat, Mrs. Garima Dadhich, and Ms. Barkha Sharma.

The winners of the poster competition are as follows:

  • First Position: Ms. Shruti Yadav (B.Sc. Nursing, 1st Semester, 2025–26)
  • Second Position: Ms. Shristi (B.Sc. Nursing, 1st Semester, 2025–26)
  • Third Position: Ms. Muskan Choudhary (B.Sc. Nursing, 2nd Semester, 2024–25)

The program was coordinated by Tutors Mr. Deepak Shobhawat and Mr. Vijay Pal Simar. All faculty members were present.
